This weekend I went to a baby shower for one of my sorority sisters. At the end of the party I noticed that they were going to throw all the decorations away including these AWESOME tissue paper balls. I asked if I could keep them cause I knew exactly where I wanted to hang them.
In our classroom we had an UGLY valance- curtain over our sink and art area. I brought them in and hung them up. We now get nothing but compliments on our room!

Theme - Cooking
This weeks theme is cooking! I am so excited to see the lesson plans that I have created with my co teacher come to life! It is so much fun to see how the kids interpret what we ask them to do. The first day we did a little intro activity using paint and let the kids use cooking utensils instead of paint brushes. We let them use a whisk, potato masher and a slotted spoon to paint their masterpieces! A brightly colored mess later, they looked fabulous!
Later in the week we looked at spices through a magnifying glass. We put spices in a pill container and gave the children a magnifying glass. They loved it!

Theme : Household Pets - Aquarium
All week long I have been trying to think of a great way to display the kids gold fish and turtle art work. Then, TA-DA it came to me, an aquarium bulletin board! At the center I work at, there is a small salt water aquarium as you enter the building. The kids LOVE looking at all the fish, so why not put one in our classroom!?! The gold fish are just paper cut outs that the kids decorated with glue and glitter. The turtles are also paper cut outs, but the shell is bubble wrap that the kids painted green then glued to the cut out (credit goes to my co-teacher Susan for that one!!). All I had to do was add some bubbles, letters and tape everything to the board!
